Force Analysis

Measure force and power output for health and performance

Strength and power are critical for health, performance, and overall quality of life. Vald Force Decks are advanced instruments designed to capture and analyze force exerted by the body during various movements, delivering critical data on balance, stability, and movement mechanics.

Muscle strength and power peak between ages 20 and 40, with a 17-20% decline in the 40s and 50s as muscle quality (time to force development) declines. Beyond 60, muscle loss (sarcopenia), strength loss, and power diminish on average 1-3% per year, increasing the risks of falls and injuries.

Force plate analysis allows our exercise physiologists to measure your strength-to-power ratio and establish a muscle quality score. This score dictates training specificity, or how much power, strength, or hypertrophy training should be in a program. Each Force Analysis test provides a detailed report comparing the result to age-related normative data.

The Force Analysis includes:

Explosiveness:

  • Countermovement Jump (CMJ)
  • Single Leg Jump
  • Squat Jump

Max Strength Output:

  • Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull (Full-Body)
  • Pushup (Upper-Body)

Mobility and Stability:

  • Quiet Stand
  • Single Leg Range of Stability
  • Single Leg Stand
  • Centre of Pressure
  • Ash Athletic Shoulder Test
